About Bali

The culture is best appreciated through the arts and food that the locals lovingly share with their visitors... but this culture sits in an uneasy truce with encroaching modernity in the form of resorts, golf courses, and malls sprouting up all over.

Bali is one of Indonesia's seventeen thousand islands. It is a very well-known holiday destination for visitors from both the West and the East. Although most visitors arrive by air with local domestic and direct international flights from several countries, Bali is also a short ferry ride from Java, Indonesia's main island. In a Muslim-majority country, Bali is culturally Hindu, with traditions and festivities celebrated nowhere else in the region.

    DAY 3:
Travel day to Eastern Bali. Enjoy a ride along the coast through beautiful rice fields to Candidasa, a secluded and peaceful seaside area. We will visit Goa Lawah Temple, known as the Bat Cave Temple, one of Bali’s six holiest temples. This temple has been worshipped since around 1,000 A.D. It is said that the bats provide sustenance for the legendary giant snake, Naga Basuki, which is also believed to live in the cave. Dinner at the hotel.

    DAY 4:
We will travel to the water palace in Tirtagangga, sacred waters of the Ganges. These waters are considered to be holy and are used for religious ceremonies. While coming back to our hotel we will stop at Tenganan, an ancient Bali Aga village, famous for double ikat weavings and lontar palm leaf carvings.

    DAY 5:
Today enjoy the hotel pool and optional spa activities. In the afternoon, Spirit Tours will lead an optional walk through the rice fields near the hotel.

    DAY 6:
Head towards the village of Ubud, the artistic and cultural center of Bali, where we will spend few days depending upon the itinerary. Stay at Resorts / hotels located just off of Monkey Forest road, in the center of Ubud's bustling activity. Ubud is the home to Bali’s famous art museums and is a shopper’s paradise. The Ubud market has an exotic and vast array of locally produced handicrafts. Dine together at Cafe Wayan.

    DAY 7:
Free time. Explore nearby salons such as Ubud’s old style family run Nur Salon with its Mandi Lulur or flower bath massage treatment, one of the most popular optional experiences on our tours.

After lunch we will visit Goa Gaja, the Elephant Cave, believed to have been a monastery in the 11th century. The entrance to Goa Gaja features the mouth of a mystical creature with many detailed carvings in stone. In the evening we will enjoy a performance of authentic Balinese dance by Semara Ratih (Sun and Moon,) one of Bali’s premier dance and gamelan groups.

    DAY 8:
Visit to Pura Gunung Kawi Sebatu, one of Bali's prettiest temples. This is a quiet temple in homage to Visnu, the preserver, who rules over water. The natural springs and waterspouts deliver holy water which travelers may collect. A statue of Saraswati, in the middle of a large koi pond, graces the temple.

    DAY 9:
This is another free day for you to explore optional activities such as biking, rafting, cooking classes, shopping or museum tours. Morning spiritual program will be as scheduled.

    DAY 10:
