DAY 2: BALLINTOY TO DERRY
Follow in the footsteps of Giants on the eighth natural wonder of the world, The Giant's Causeway! With its thousands of hexagonal columns you can make up your mind what caused it; a giant or geology? We go further along the beautiful coast to Derry, stay at night. This medieval city will test your emotions as you are brought face to face with its troubled history both past and present.
DAY 3: DERRY TO GALWAY
Heading south, we cross the border and make our way back to the Republic of Ireland. Visit the resting place of the world famous poet, W.B. Yeats before stopping off in the quaint town of Westport for lunch. The wild and rugged Connemara awaits with barren mountains and glens which have inspired many an Irish musician. Stay overnight is the cultural capital of Ireland, Galway. AKA “City of the Tribes”, Galway’s lively atmosphere and buskers will leave you gagging for more.
DAY 4: INIS MOR
We spend a whole day on Inis Mór, the largest of the Aran Islands. The locals are fluent Irish (Gaelic) speakers and you’re free to explore the island and get chatting to them over a pint. 3,000 miles of stone walls await as you walk, hire a horse and cart or rent a bike to explore the island. Don't miss the awe-inspiring Dun Aonghasa, a 3,000 year old Iron Age ring fort perched on the edge of a 300 foot high cliff. After a tremendous day it’s time to head back to the main land for a pint of Guinness or two in one of Galway’s many buzzing pubs.
DAY 5: GALWAY TO ENNIS
Through the Burren, Ireland’s lunar landscape and home to ancient tombs, fairies and leprechauns! Your next place is the awesome Cliffs of Moher rising hundreds of feet over the Atlantic Ocean. Vertigo sufferers beware! We spend the night in Ennis, County Clare and home of Irish music. The pubs are filled with locals playing 'trad' music and you'll always be welcome to join them.
DAY 6: ENNIS TO KILLARNEY
Today it’s all about breathtaking scenery, fresh Irish air and adventure. Will spend the day exploring the dramatic Dingle Peninsula where we take you to the edge of the ancient world and hear tales of warriors and heros.
